Jesse James Lozano

Jesse was born and raised in San Antonio. He has been competing in chess tournaments since high school and now he is a National Chess Master and a four-time San Antonio City chess champion. Lozano is a full time chess player and chess coach. His goal is to help San Antonio be a chess capitol and give students an opportunity to grow and play this important game.

Sasha is an avid chess player, who has enjoyed the game for over 20 years. He has three young sons who play chess and excel in mathematics and logic. Sasha believes that studying and playing chess improves critical thinking skills, mental equity and concentration; skills which are essential in all facets of life. Playing and teaching chess are his passions along with serving his patients and community.

Bob Le

Bob Le

Co-founder & CTO

Bob was born and raised in Vietnam. He is a software developer who studied computer science at Trinity University. Bob started playing chess when he was 6 years old, and he competed in national and international chess competitions as a member of Vietnamese National Chess Team. He is a Candidate FIDE Master and he hopes to share his passion for chess with everyone, especially with the younger generation.

Program & Education Director

Camden is currently the President of Trinity University’s Chess Club and possesses a strong passion for the game. Camden is an aspiring educator and has been taking education courses at Trinity University. These courses have given Camden the knowledge to spearhead the development of our educational programs.

Blake Herrera

Webmaster

Blake is president of UTSA’s Armadillo Chess Club, where he pursues his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He hopes to build a strong chess community with the colleges around San Antonio and Texas. In addition to coaching and tournament directing, Blake manages the website you are seeing right now!

Business & Community Outreach Director

Carlos is a passionate chess player with a focus on learning. He started playing chess seriously at 20 and quickly became top 10% in Texas. He’s an aspiring master and strives to be able to improve his community with his knowledge.

Isaac Castro

Isaac Castro

Social Outreach Coordinator

Isaac’s freshman year at UTSA he discovered the Roost, a room full of games including chess. He got hooked, and now spends a lot of his free time playing online chess. Isaac creates most of the posts on our social media accounts – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
