Description: This is a beginner (unrated) chess tournament open to all students(K-12) in San Antonio and nearby areas. This is a themed tournament where we will be starting from the Halloween Gambit position which you can learn about HERE. We will play on Saturday at 12 p.m. until finish. We will also be hosting a Halloween party featuring candy, balloon artists, and a downstairs to partake in while you wait for the next round. Registration online only, no registration on site. Registration ends at 8:00pm on Friday.

To help our scholastic students focus, parents are not allowed to wait in the chess hall due to limited seating. You’re encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy our outdoor activities.

SECTIONS MIGHT BE COMBINED IF LOW ENTRY

K-1 grade
2nd-5th grade
6th-8th grade
9th-12th grade

Top 3 of each section wins a medal.

Winners of each section get one free entry to our rated scholastic Saturday tournament

**Any cancellations that require a refund will be charged a $7 processing fee.
